Whitelist
In order to connect to the Genesis server, you must be added to the whitelist. To apply for whitelisting, please fill out an application form and provide any relevant information about your roleplay experience and character. Our team will review your application and may contact you for additional information. Please note that not all applications will be accepted, as we look for players who demonstrate a strong understanding of role play and the ability to follow our rules and regulations. If you are approved for whitelisting, please be aware that if you close your Genesis forum account or leave the Genesis Discord, you will need to reapply for whitelisting if you wish to return to the server.

Prohibited Roleplay
Prohibited roleplay refers to any roleplay that violates the rules and guidelines of the server or community. Here are some general rules to follow when it comes to prohibited roleplay:
Breaking character: Always stay in the perspective of your character. Any roleplay that is violating rules should be reported in the player dispute section in the forum.
No sexually explicit behavior outside of the strip club: Erotic roleplay, or any sexually explicit behavior, is prohibited outside of the strip club. Inside the strip club, sexual behavior should be restricted to the scripts provided by the server. Players should be respectful to one another and express consent before engaging in any sexually explicit roleplay.
No torture roleplay: Torture roleplay, including cutting off body parts and waterboarding individuals, is not allowed.
No low-effort roleplay: Players should make a concerted effort to engage in high-quality roleplay and avoid low-effort roleplay. This includes things like one-word responses, repetitive actions, and a lack of effort to engage in meaningful roleplay. Examples of low-effort roleplay include: always shooting, running from police where it isn't called for, cop baiting, running up to an active scene and looting/scavenging people's cars/bodies, chain store robberies, robbing a place 30 minutes prior to server restart.
Not valuing life: Players should roleplay in a manner that is fearful of injuries or when being threatened with a weapon and should value the lives of their characters and others.
Respect safe areas: Hospitals and law enforcement agencies are considered safe areas and should not be targeted by criminal activities.
No kidnapping of EMS: EMS are protected members and cannot be taken hostage, robbed, etc.
No using friends as hostages: Using friends as hostages for robberies is not allowed.
No taking LEOs hostage at low population: Taking a law enforcement officer (LEO) hostage at a robbery (knowing there is a low population of LEOs) is unacceptable.
No interactions between characters: Interactions between your own characters, or "meta-gaming," is prohibited.

Metagaming
Metagaming is the use of information that your character did not obtain through their own actions to gain an unfair advantage in roleplay. Examples of metagaming include:
Using information learned from watching a streamer's gameplay to make decisions in your own roleplay, even though your character would not have access to this information. Watching someone else's stream while in the server is strictly prohibited and will be treated as metagaming.
Using information learned from a Discord channel or message to make decisions in your own roleplay, even though your character would not have access to this information.
Using information learned from a private conversation with another player to make decisions in your own roleplay, even though your character would not have access to this information.
It's important to remember that metagaming can be subtle and subjective, so be mindful of the impact of your actions on the roleplay experience of others. If you have any questions or concerns about metagaming, reach out to a staff member or seek guidance from the community.

Powergaming
Powergaming is the use of information that your character would not understand or be able to perform in their daily life to gain an unfair advantage in roleplay. Examples of powergaming include:
Using knowledge of how the game works to your advantage in a way that exceeds the limitations of your character's knowledge or abilities.
Manipulating roleplay to force a certain outcome, rather than allowing the outcome to be decided by the actions and decisions of all involved characters.
Choosing to do a certain job or task because it pays more than other options, rather than because it aligns with your character's motivations or goals.
Using knowledge or skills that your character would not realistically have to gain an advantage in roleplay.
Using a script in a way that is not intended for gain to have an advantage over another player.
It's important to remember that powergaming can be subtle and subjective, so be mindful of the impact of your actions on the roleplay experience of others. If you have any questions or concerns about powergaming, reach out to a staff member or seek guidance from the community.

Random Death Match (RDM)
Random Death Match (RDM) is the act of intentionally harming or killing another player without any story leading up to the act. Here are some general rules to follow to avoid RDM:
Communicate hostile intent: Make an effort to communicate any hostile intent you have towards another player before engaging in combat with them. This can be done through spoken word in person, over the radio, or through other forms of communication (e.g., text, chat).
Follow the "Say Something Standard": The "Say Something Standard" means that players should make a concerted effort to communicate their hostile intent prior to an engagement. This can come in a variety of forms, such as spoken word in person, over the radio, chat, or other forms of communication.
Avoid "Drive-by" behavior: "Drive-by" behavior (i.e., attacking another player without any prior communication or declaration of hostile intent) is not acceptable because it can lead to misunderstandings and unintended perceptions of toxicity.
Roleplay accordingly: Make sure to roleplay out any conflict or hostility in a realistic and appropriate manner.
Report any RDM incidents: If you experience or witness RDM, make sure to report it to the appropriate authorities or game moderators so that it can be addressed.

Roleplay accordingly: Make sure to roleplay out any conflict or hostility in a realistic and appropriate manner.
Report any VDM incidents: If you experience or witness VDM, make sure to report it in the player dispute section in the forum so that it can be addressed.

Respawning
Here are some general guidelines to follow when it comes to respawning after your character has died or been killed in roleplay:
Forget all events leading up to waking up in the hospital: If you respawn at a hospital, your character must forget all events leading up to waking up in the hospital. This means that you cannot use any information or knowledge that your previous character had in order to make decisions or take actions with your new character.
Wait for roleplay with law enforcement or police: If law enforcement or police are on the way or at your scene, you cannot respawn and must wait for the roleplay that comes with this situation. This means that you cannot use a new character to avoid roleplay with law enforcement or police.
Don't call 911 if there is no local present: If you are placed at a location where there is not a local NPC present and they cannot realistically see you, you cannot call 911.
It's important to remember that respawning can have a significant impact on the roleplay experience of others, and it's important to be mindful of the impact of your actions. If you have any questions or concerns about respawning, it's always a good idea to talk to a staff member or seek guidance from the community.

Perma Death
Perma death, or permanent death, refers to the act of permanently ending a character's roleplay in a server. Here are some general rules to follow when it comes to perma death in roleplay:
No one can force another character to perma death: No one can force another character to permanently end their roleplay in the server. Perma death must be roleplayed out and must be an agreed upon decision between all parties involved.
Announce intention to perma death using the /me command: If you are roleplaying out a perma death, you must announce your intention to permanently end your character's roleplay using the /me command (e.g., /me has no pulse). This helps to ensure that other players and staff members are aware of the situation and can respond appropriately.
Characters with perma death cannot continue in the server: Once a character has undergone perma death, they cannot continue in the server. This means that players cannot bring back a character that has undergone perma death or use a new character to continue the roleplay of a character that has undergone perma death.

Dual Characters

Submit a dual characters application: Players must submit a dual characters application and be approved before actively roleplaying that character's lifestyle.
Roleplay as a civilian while awaiting approval: It is acceptable, and even encouraged, to roleplay a character that is awaiting dual character approval solely as a civilian until approval is granted. This helps to ensure that players are not able to abuse their dual character status to gain an unfair advantage in roleplay.

Disciplinary Actions

The severity of the punishment will depend on the severity of the offense, and staff reserve the right to decide the appropriate course of action for each situation.
